A quick overview of the lab so far

Slowly but surely most systems are getting installed and configured, so I thought it would be a good time to do an update on the equipment i’m using.

Front view:

An equipment rundown from top to bottom:

  • Cisco 2950 Router — Voice Router (CUCM Gateway)
  • Cisco N5K-5672UP — Coreswitch A
  • Cisco N5K-5672UP — Coreswitch B
  • Dell R630 — BMC, vCenter, Management, Monitoring, …
  • OEM Box — TrueNas | 16TB NVMe
  • Dell MD1400 — Truenas DAS | 48TB HDD
  • OEM Box — VMWare Node 1

Back view internals:

On the back there’s mostly cabling but also some power equipment:

  • 2x AP8959EU3 PDU
  • 2x MGE HotSwap MBP UPS Bypass

A thing still on the to do list is to create a nice patch panel for the incoming power and fiber connections.

And here’s some shots of the chilled door which has been awesome so far:
